Daniel Herbert is an 800 Meter State Champion, 4:21 miler, and collegiate All-Conference 800 Meter runner, but was also once a running dropout.

Daniel re-discovered running on the trails of Missoula, Montana. Now a 1:20 Half Marathoner and high school cross country coach in his hometown of Wichita, KS, he is experienced with riding the peaks and valleys of learning to love the run, not just the clock at the finish.

He currently is training to race the Backyard Ultra Marathon format and to run his first Boston Qualifying Marathon.

Coaching Services to meet your training needs

  • Scared of those big threshold days circled on your training schedule? Do your interval or long run days often end up getting cut short? Are you always wondering why all these runners keep saying fartlek? Working hard in a group with a coach can take the mental and emotional load off of those essential sessions!

    Coach Daniel will design each session to meet the group’s needs, will help manage the mental and emotional load of a hard session, and will help you jump start recovery after! You might even walk away with some swag.

    Currently scheduling sessions for a minimum 3 athletes / session. Contact if interested in forming a group.

    $25 / session (per person)

  • What’s your next big (or small) running goal? Simply training consistently injury free? Competing in high school or collegiate XC or Track? First 5K? Half marathon? Marathon? Ultra? Trail Race?

    The accountability of a personal coach could be the key to unlocking the next level in your running practice.

    After a free initial consultation, Daniel will work with you individually to tailor a program that considers your lifestyle and schedule, allowing you to make progress towards your goals with a consistent and sustainable approach using research-based techniques.

    Packages and options will vary based on client wants/needs, but may include:

    • Regular Virtual/Phone/In Person Check Ins - Life and health check-ins, goal setting, training education, and guidance

    • Adjustable and flexible periodized annual training plans based on analysis of your weekly run data and changing schedule

    • Individual threshold and interval style training sessions (local to Wichita metro)

    • Strength Training Recommendations (virtual and local) and/or individual or group training sessions (local only)

    • Form and gait analysis and coaching

    • Periodized nutritional recommendations

    • Injury prevention and maintenance

    • Race day preparation - logistics, nutrition, gear, and strategy

    Prices vary based on package ($150 - $500/month)

    • 2 Planned Virtual Check-ins - Adjust your plan based on run data so each training block meets you where you’re at.

    • Strength conditioning recommendations

    • 50% off group training sessions: running or strength - (local only to Wichita metro)

    $250 per 12 week training block (base, build, race specific/taper)
